Goldfish are available in many varieties and one of the most commonly kept aquarium fish worldwide. Goldfish popularity has arisen due to their hardiness, activeness and bright colours. Goldfish have been domesticated for so long they are now only found in captivity (excluding introduced populations) and are thought to originate from East Asia.
